Raúl Martín Ramirez

Head Coach Raúl Martín is in his 14th year of coaching at Central High School in 2017-2018

Coach Martin attended Tulare Western High School and played soccer at the high school level. His soccer experience has now expanded since then playing in college (Fresno Pacific University) at the intramural level and with club teams in the Cesar Chavez League (La Trinidad) of Fresno, Madera Premier League (Internacional) and Madera (Fresno United). While playing at the club level Coach Martin had been introduced into coaching in Guadalajara, Mexico (Club Deportivo Guadalajara). His introduction led to a passion for coaching, directing him to coach at Central High School.

In his first year (freshman head coach) the freshmen team took second in the TRAC later achieving a first place finish in the two years following and one of those seasons marked by an undefeated run in league (15 wins...no losses).

In his time with the Boy's Varsity Soccer Team there has been numerous success. Five TRAC Championships, Two Valley Championship Appearences, and 2 Harold Young Championships in 5 years. The success of the team has been a cohesive effort of many involved: Daren Pittman, Matt Odabashian, Emmanuel Gomez, Brandon Ramos, Eric Yepez, Christopher Young, Elijah Gallegos.

Coach Martín loves to play soccer and watch it as well when time allows for it. His favorite teams include Club Deportivo Guadalajara, FC Barcelona, and Arsenal. Martin, his wife Lupe and two daughters Sol and Alexa reside in Fresno.
